‘Stir the fire & light the lights’
Here we are once again at the Winter Solstice - where everything feels cold and dark. We have yet to really get started with the worst winter has to throw at us and yet today we celebrate hope of what is to come. The solstice sun (if we even get to see it) seems frozen, distant and weak. Today is the day we remind it to return once more to it’s full power and to bring us light, warmth, spring and summer. Bringing in the Lammas Harvest
We are delighted that our 2019 Country Wisdom & Folklore Diary has arrived from our wonderful local printers WPG bang on time for Lammas which could not be more fitting. We have spent the year gathering folklore snippets from around the British Isles, creating images, researching, writing and publishing the diary in our endeavour to keep alive the old ways and celebrate the year which has culminated in the 2019 diary which is now ripe and ready for picking and available to bu

Very excited -'Put to bed' !
Well the 2019 Country Wisdom & Folklore diary is complete and at the printers (or put to bed in printing jargon!) A big phew on our part as it is the culmination of a years worth of collecting and collating folklore around the British Isles. We have had some wonderful journeys, met lovely people, heard super stories and sayings, been slightly out of our comfort zone on radio broadcasts, done interviews and many speaking events.
